Credit basics for teens 14-18

Your teen has already used credit.
Nobody told them what it costs.

Buy now, pay later is credit, and most teens have used it without ever hearing the word. Credit, Unlocked covers what it actually costs, how a card really works, and how to start building a record without wrecking it. 5 short lessons. Lesson 1 is free.

Hey, teen

You've done this already.

Ever split a purchase into 4 payments? Then you borrowed money and paid it back on somebody else's schedule. That was credit. Nobody called it that.

This course explains the thing you already did, plus the card you'll get offered the week you turn 18. It runs on your phone, and Lesson 1 is free.

If you want the rest, send this page to your parents.

Pricing

One price. No surprises.

Pay once and it's theirs to keep. No subscription, no renewal, no upsell waiting at the end.

This one costs more than Money, Unlocked because it's about twice the course: more lessons, a real card offer to pull apart, and a full year of card decisions to run start to finish.

FAQ

Good questions.

No. Under 21, federal law requires documented independent income or a cosigner, and the course teaches that directly instead of pretending otherwise. The 3 real starting paths all involve a parent conversation, so this is the right time to have it, not too early.
No. It explains what credit costs, how a card actually works, and what happens if they carry a balance. Lesson 1 is largely about a product they have already used without ever holding a card.
There are no made-up score numbers anywhere in the course. Directions and ranges only. A fake 3 digit score would be the one dishonest thing in here, so we left it out.
Credit, Unlocked is built for teens 14-18. The language, examples, and activities are all designed for that age range. It works whether your teen has never thought about credit or already uses buy now, pay later regularly.
Each lesson runs roughly 10 to 25 minutes, so most teens finish the course across a few sittings. It's self-paced, and once your teen sets up their account, progress saves automatically.
Any device with a browser - phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. No app to download, no account to create to try Lesson 1.
You'll get immediate access to all 5 lessons plus 3 downloadable reference guides. Access doesn't expire - it's a one-time purchase with no time limit.
It's fully self-directed. That said, Lesson 4 ends on the parent conversation, since becoming an authorized user on your card is the fastest way for a teen to start a credit record. That one is worth doing together.
